All the Details Behind Olivia Rodrigo’s “Modern Punk Glam” Makeup at the Grammys 2022

 It’s Olivia Rodrigo’s night at the 2022 Grammys. The 19-year-old pop superstar will perform at the ceremony tonight and be nominated for seven awards – including Best New Artist, Song of the Year for the hit hit “Driver’s License” and Album of the Year for her debut Sour LP. Infusing his signature punk style into a thrilling, history-making look, Rodrigo donned a stylish black Vivienne Westwood, corset with a matching set of opera gloves and jewel-encrusted chokers class. Once a beauty risk-taker, she complemented her look with a modern, vampire-style make-up of the 90s; a page considered fodder for the mood board for TikTok obsessed with nostalgia and more.

Her makeup artist Lilly Keys said: “Olivia has a great, personal style, I wanted to keep that fresh and young, but there had to be a bit of an edge. “We’re calling it a ’90s supermodel, modern glam punk vibe,” she continued about the look, which featured dusty pink-dyed lips, dramatic sharp liner and a bright skin.

After prepping Rodrigo’s skin with Glossier’s perfect Skin Tint and Stretch concealer, Keys added a “sunkiss-like” blush on his cheeks, combining Cloud Paint blush with soft peachy Beam and Storm rose warm on the apple and along the bridge of the nose. Swiping the Quartz Haloscope along the top of the cheekbones, the tip of the nose, and just above the Cupid arc completed the equation for internally illuminated skin.

For the “iridescent lavender” smoky eyes, which Keys designed to accentuate the maroon flecks in Rodrigo’s brown eyes, the expert blended two matte shades from a monochrome palette. Clove in Mist onto eyelids, then use Pro Tip liner to razor sharp onyx wings. In contrast, Lash Slick coating on upper and lower lashes creates a soft feel, monolids are reinforced by full, bold curves brushed up with Boy Brow. The final touch is a “bite, almost vampire” lip, achieved with a deliberately impromptu Ultralip swipe in the bold dusty pink Villa. “I apply lipstick to my lips, using my fingers to gently rub just above the upper lip line to create the look of a kiss,” she says of the soft finish.
